Laurence Loh, an architect and renowned  “Heritage Crusader” from Penang, Malaysia, introduces his ideas on how to covertly promote heritage conservation.

His milestone restoration project, the Blue Mansion, received the UNESCO’s Most Excellent Project in the Asia Pacific Heritage Award in 2000.

The attention this project received helped make heritage conservation a mainstream activity in Penang, Malaysia.

In a discussion between Loh and Hong Kong Fringe Club’s founder Benny Chia, both will explore ideas around conservation advocacy, and the subtle approaches that can be used to protect local heritage.
