Description
In the two Hong Kong concerts, the Berliner Philharmoniker will perform monumental symphonic works conducted by the orchestra’s Chief Conductor and Artistic Director, Sir Simon Rattle. In the November 10 concert young award-winning pianist Seong-Jin Cho will perform Ravel‘s Piano Concerto in G. On the second evening, the Orchestra will perform a work composed by eminent Korean composer Unsuk Chin especially for the Berliner Philharmoniker.
In addition to the live performances, both concerts will be broadcast live in Tsim Sha Tsui, Sha Tin and Yuen Long from the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall free of admission.
10 November (Fri) 20:00: Richard Strauss: Don Juan, Op. 20; Ravel: Piano Concerto in G (Piano: Seong-Jin Cho); Brahms, Symphony No. 4 in E Minor, Op. 98.
11 November (Sat) 17:00: Stravinsky: Petrushka (Revised Version from 1947); Unsuk Chin: Chorós Chordón (Commissioned by the Berliner Philharmoniker Foundation Première); Rachmaninov: Symphony No. 3 in A Minor, Op. 44.
