For the past four years, beloved Central live music venue The Aftermath has hosted an annual talent search, inviting new and established acts alike to battle it out onstage. After three tightly contested heats, four finalists have been named to perform in the 2026 grand final. On 27 June, Midnight Overdrive, Misty Blue Banana, The Gurling and The Proxies will be pulling out all the stops to rock punters and impresses the expert judges. There is also the chance to hear headline slot from last year’s winners, Idles-esque post-punk provocateurs Houseplants.

The event forms part of The Aftermath’s “Hong Kong We Need You” campaign, a month-long programme of special events to raise additional funds to cover back rent.
