Noted Russian jazz trumpeter Alex Sipiagin and the Patrick Lui Jazz Orchestra join forces for a vibrant concert of the latter’s original big band works.
Description
Patrick Lui is a jazz pianist, keyboardist, composer, arranger and producer. He has performed in many cities and music festivals around the world, including EUROPAfest, the Taichung Jazz Festival, Clockenflap and the Hong Kong International Jazz Festival.
Alex Sipiagin is a jazz trumpeter celebrated for his harmonically sophisticated approach influenced by the post-bop style of musicians like John Coltrane. He has performed and recorded with Eric Clapton, Elvis Costello, and legendary producer Phil Ramone, among many others.
This show is presented by the Fringe Club as a part of their “Jazz-Go-Central, Jazz-Go-Fringe” project, which was founded to create a more fertile and vibrant Jazz and music ecology in Hong Kong. The Big Band Night is a recurring event in which various local jazz big bands are invited to perform at Fringe Dairy.
