Cheng Ting Ting’s Amber Steps: Noticing the Ordinary Moments

Abstract yet familiar, Cheng Ting Ting’s latest show Amber Steps explores how small, ordinary moments can be transformed. Building on her previous work, Cheng applies her signature visual language to overlooked moments of everyday life, expanding passing moments into rich and fluid worlds where time stand still. Each painting, like “Lost Pieces” and “Pebbles,” takes viewers on a stroll through such routine moments, inviting self-reflection on the ordinary through multiple perspectives, finding meaning in these memories we take for granted.

Amber Steps is Cheng’s fifth solo show at Gallery Exit. Cheng has been showing her works locally and internationally since 2013, including in solo exhibitions in Norway and in Taiwan.
