Angie Choi Captures Moving Cars In Ceramics

Why We Recommend it
Drifting exhibits the latest ceramics by local artist Angie Choi, capturing the fast movements of cars and reflecting on the transience of everyday life.
Description
Drifting exhibits the latest works made by local artist Angie Choi Nga-sze. The ceramics prominently feature moving cars, as Choi captures their quick movements and preserves these unique fleeting moments, titling each work with the precise time of creation. Many exhibited works feature the three familiar types of Hong Kong taxis, driving on familiar Hong Kong roads — offering a less familiar representation through ceramics of this common means of transport. The pieces featuring crashed taxis bring another layer into the exhibition’s further reflection on the transience of everyday life.
Recently graduated with a visual arts bachelor degree from the Hong Kong Baptist University in 2023, Choi has since participated in various group exhibitions in Hong Kong.
Gallery Exit is also hosting the solo exhibition Merry-Go-Nowhere by local artist Candyce Wong Ka-ying. Both exhibitions run until 10 January 2026.
