[CANCELLED]Art Basel Returns to Hong Kong With a World’s Worth of Art

Why We Recommend it
Art Basel returns to Hong Kong with 242 galleries, 12 large-scale installations and a suite of special events.
Description
This year marks the 50th anniversary of Art Basel, and as always, its Hong Kong edition brings together artists and galleries from around the globe.
Alongside a robust roster of returning galleries from across Asia, Hong Kong spaces will be strongly represented at the fair, with 11 home-grown galleries showing across the different sectors of the fair, including 10 Chancery Lane Gallery, Alisan Fine Arts, Blindspot Gallery and more.
Along with talks and events, a special project to mark the 50th anniversary of Art Basel will launch in Hong Kong under the guidance of former Spring Workshop curator Christina Li. Another highlight is the annual Encounters section, which populates the exhibition halls with 12 large-scale installations, nine of which are premiering in Hong Kong. Among them is a new textile-based sculptural intervention by nonagenarian Romanian artist Marion Baruch that questions the clothing industry’s production processes and use of natural resources.
