David Zwirner’s Art Beyond Border(line)

Why We Recommend it
David Zwirner’s Hong Kong gallery presents Border(line), featuring artists from around the globe to explore the intricate nature of borders to address the pressing issues of our era.
Description
Border(line) at David Zwirner in Hong Kong gathers artists from around the world to explore the concept of borders.
A key part of the group exhibition is a seminal video work Painting/Retoque (2008) by the Belgian-born, Mexico-based artist Francis Alÿs. The piece showcases how the artist repaints the fading median strips of a road that crosses the Panama Canal to underscore the changing and arbitrary nature of boundaries.
The exhibition also includes additional works by Josef Albers, Raoul De Keyser and Félix González-Torres, all of whom explore the idea of frames, horizons and boundaries from cross-generational and transcultural perspectives. Contemporary artists with diverse creative practices from Hong Kong, China and across Asia are also invited to the event, further expanding the concept of borders.
