Why We Recommend it
Explore emerging art and the masterpieces of established talents at Art Central, a cornerstone event of Hong Kong’s art week, showcasing over 100 galleries and 500 artists.
Description
Art Central, a quintessential event during Hong Kong Art Month, is set to open at its central harbourfront location from 26 to 30 March 2025, with an exclusive VIP preview on 25 March.
Curated by Enoch Che, this year’s fair will showcase works from over 100 galleries and 500 artists, predominantly from the Asia-Pacific region, highlighting a diverse array of established talents and emerging galleries. The Legends section will feature artists born before 1970, each presented in their own dedicated booth. Notable highlights include Indigenous Australian art by Emily Kam Kngwarray and the avant-garde rainbow works of Ay-O, a cornerstone of the Fluxus movement.
The Duo Projects segment aims to foster artistic collaborations from galleries worldwide, such as the fusion of prominent Latvian painter Andris Eglītis and French artist Dimitri Kosiré. A special emphasis will be placed on photography, showcasing seminal works from contemporary photographer Shen Chao Liang. Art Central’s beloved Yi Tai Sculpture and Installation Projects will also return.
