Art x Culture Central Fair Celebrates Hong Kong Heritage

Why We Recommend it
Hong Kong’s oldest art bookstore presents the Art x Culture Central Fair to celebrate the city’s multifaceted heritage through exclusive personal collections and acclaimed works by local veterans in history, art and culture.
Description
Celebrating its 50th anniversary, Tai Yip Art Bookshop hosts the Art x Culture Central Fair at Wyndham Social in Central, welcoming art lovers from 16 to 21 July to rediscover the city’s artful heritage. Part II of the event will be held from 25 to 27 July.
The fair features the first collection exhibition of renowned film critic Law Kar, a commemorative literary display for the late veteran journalist Cheng Ming-yan, photographs by centenarian photographer Cheung Pak-kan and young photographer Tung Mak, as well as the new ink comic series, Maps of Serenity, by celebrated artist Ma Sing-yuen.
Beyond the exhibits, four talks will be held in Cantonese over the event weekends (19, 20, 26 and 27 July) by some of the participating artists, available through online registration. Due to adverse weather, please note that, except for Animated Celluloid: A Reminiscence of the Lost Youth (20 July), all talks scheduled initially will be postponed by one week.
