Art in Resonance 2026: Engaging Art at The Peninsula HK

Why We Recommend it
The Peninsula Hong Kong unveils inspiring new installations for Art in Resonance 2026, celebrating craft, culture and imagination.
Description
This March, during Hong Kong Arts Month, The Peninsula Hong Kong presents Art in Resonance 2026, an ambitious programme of new commissions celebrating artistry and imagination. It features works by three artists: Angela Hui, Albert Yonathan Setyawan and William Lim.
Hong Kong artist Angela Hui, recently selected to represent Hong Kong at the 61st Venice Biennale, transforms everyday motifs like goldfish into luminous embroidered installations using her gongbi painting roots. Her installation, “Swimming in Light” graces The Peninsula’s façade, awnings and Rolls-Royces, turning the hotel into a shimmering aquatic wonderland.
Tokyo-based Indonesian ceramicist Albert Yonathan Setyawan crafts unglazed terracotta forms evoking leaves and flowers, exploring nature’s transience through ritualistic repetition. In partnership with the V&A, his “Metamorphic Modulation” envelops The Peninsula Lobby in a shadowy, perspective-shifting enclosure.
Architect-artist William Lim blends surrealism and design in his Journey series, reimagining reality through symbolic motifs like leaping fish and low moons. Collaborating with Tai Ping at The Verandah Café, his “A Bright Future” oil painting becomes an immersive tapestry-carpet world inviting visitors into a hopeful dreamscape.
Since 2019, Art in Resonance has supported emerging and mid-career artists by providing funding, curatorial support and exhibition space, creating deeply immersive art experiences for guests and visitors alike.
