HK Ballet’s Sleeping Beauty is a one-hour abridged version of the timeless classic fairytale that enchants families with its innovative blend of storytelling, dance and audience interaction.


After an evil fairy casts a spell on the beautiful Princess Aurora, only a kiss from her prince can awaken her from her slumber. That’s the premise of The Sleeping Beauty, and HK Ballet’s rendition of the classic story features dance steps by Artistic Curator Yuri Ng, who won the Outstanding Choreography Award at the 2019 Hong Kong Dance Awards. This one-hour abridged version of the full length classic that serves as an introduction for everyone, including children as young as three years old, to classic ballet.

Besides the performances onstage, guests can enjoy a series of activities before and after the shows in Tutu Factory. They include an interactive Kids’ Ballet Workshop; a Ballet Greatest Hits session in which children learn about classical ballet music; Make Your Own Tutu, where participants can create their unique tutus; and Tiaras, Pointe Shoes and Me, where participants can meet the company’s ballerinas and dancers for a discussion.
