“Banksy: Genius or Vandal?” Hong Kong Exhibition

Why We Recommend it

The exhibition Banksy: Genius or Vandal? will feature over 70 pieces of infamous street artist Banksy’s original art work, installations, photographs, and sculptures.

Description

Over 70 pieces of Banksy’s original art work will be featured at the highly anticipated exhibition Banksy: Genius or Vandal? starting this December.

The exhibition has already been visited by 700,000 people during its successful stops in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Madrid, and Lisbon. Hong Kong will be the first city in Asia to hold this exhibition.

Considered one of the main contemporary street art icons, British artist Banksy creates art that is oftentimes provocative and satirical, addressing universal issues such as politics, culture, and ethics. The aura of mystery that he maintains through keeping his identity unknown makes him a mythical figure of our time. Challenging the rules of the contemporary art game, Banksy’s works have connected with a huge audience and today, he is one of the most recognised and admired among younger generations.

The exhibition, just like all previous exhibitions dedicated to the infamous street artist, is not authorised by Banksy, who prefers to guard his anonymity and independence from the system.
