Benjamin Appl Brings His Majestic Baritone to Hong Kong City Hall

Award-winning baritone Benjamin Appl and celebrated pianist James Baillieu return to Hong Kong after their debut with Premiere Performances in 2018. Following their sold-out Carnegie Hall debut in 2023, the duo hosts another performance for one night only with a stunningly-curated Lieder programme honouring his legendary mentor, Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau.

Baritone singer Appl has performed on major stages including Carnegie Hall, the Barbican Centre London, Concertgebouw Amsterdam and Wiener Konzerthaus. A former BBC New Generation Artist, Wigmore Hall Emerging Artist and ECHO Rising Star, Appl was also awarded Gramophone Award Young Artist of the Year in 2016.

Baillieu is a renowned pianist celebrated for his solo and chamber music performances worldwide, having won prestigious competitions such as the 2009 Wigmore Hall/Kohn Foundation International Song Competition. He holds key teaching roles, including Senior Professor of Ensemble Piano at the Royal Academy of Music, and frequently collaborates with leading artists like Appl.
