Between Light and Shade: Solo Exhibit of Chinese-born French painter Shan Weijun
Why We Recommend it
Showcasing over twenty recent ink-and-wash depictions of the French countryside, this is the first Hong Kong solo exhibit of Chinese-born French painter Shan Weijun.
Shan (b. 1962) has studied and lived in Paris since 1991, developing a contemporary, signature style with incorporates Chinese ink practice and aesthetics.
In this exhibit, garden landscapes and scenes of suburbia are evoked with a muted softness. The purity and tranquility of nature is expressed with simple yet compound shades of grey.
