The birthday of the Red-faced, crescent sword-wielding god of Brotherhood Kwan Tai sees temples across Hong Kong filled with faithful worshippers leaving offerings of incense and roast meat.
One of the city’s most revered gods, he exemplifies “yang” masculine energy, and embodies values of loyalty, brotherhood and righteousness.
With several temples dedicated to him, including the oldest in Tai O, and the largest in Sham Shui Po, festivities held in his honour can be witnessed across the city.
