Black Spots: Into the Future of Emotion

Why We Recommend it
Experience Black Spots: Beyond The Evolution, a powerful dance theatre work exploring emotion, language and human connection in a fractured future.
Description
In a future where language has dissolved and consciousness becomes as transparent as water, Black Spots: Beyond The Evolution asks: is emotion humanity’s final redemption or its ultimate prison? This bold dance theatre work marks the final chapter of Beyond Dance Theater’s three-year Contemporary Dance Theatre Development Project, Black Spots.
Directed and choreographed by Kelvin Mak, it unites 16 dancers and actors with dramaturg and artistic consultant Ceri Sherlock, playwright Jason Lam Chak-ming, set and props designer Matthieu Chu and costume designer Jeff Mui. Together, they blend the physical power of dance with the dramatic intensity of text — showing audiences a fragmented world where human senses and emotions blur into virtual illusion.
There will be three performances: two shows will be held on 9 and 10 January at 20:00, while the remaining one will occur on 11 January at 15:00. A meet-the-artist session follows each performance.
