Chen Wei’s Visions of Isolation Come Alive at Blindspot Gallery

Description

Returning with a second solo exhibition at Blindspot Gallery, Chen Wei’s latest show features photography, LED light sculptures and videos. Inspired by themes of alienation and solitude, repercussions of the post-pandemic era, Chen’s muted compositions and urban motifs capture the psychological impact of contemporary life. His art reflects on collective traumas and the barriers created by technology, which can be seen through works such as “Breath of Silence,” “Clean Hands” and the video “Light Me,” inviting reflection on our screen-dominated world.

The show also marks the end for Chen’s New City series which explores the duality between people’s expectations and reality.
