Hooked on Booked: Tai Kwun Contemporary’s First Hong Kong Art Book Fair
Why We Recommend it
For a consecutive three days this January, Tai Kwun welcomes an unprecedented international art book fair which offers a fresh selection of publications, live and sound performances, public talks, and other special projects.
The fair, aptly named ‘Booked’, will display and sell a diverse range of art publications, including art historical and theoretical texts, art albums, photography books, artists’ books, gallery editions and zines.
For the first time in Hong Kong, around 60 art publishers and artists from Asia, Europe and North America have been invited to attend this large-scale book fair. Highlights include the special displays and projects by Dolphins (Hong Kong), HKBU’s Academy of Visual Arts and Art Booked Bags.
Some of the books displayed at the book fair are collected in the Artists’ Book Library at Tai Kwun Contemporary, which acts as an ongoing collection of Asian artists’ books and an integral part of the programming at Tai Kwun Contemporary.
The fair will also feature music performances by local band Absurd TRAX and The Great △ from Tokyo, as well as a series of talks and workshops.
