The Odyssey of Little Dragon
Why We Recommend it
City Contemporary Dance Company’s brand new dance production showcases the force and flair of legendary martial artist Bruce Lee (1940-1973).
Combining martial art’s powerful poise and contemporary dance’s elegance, the show is a celebration of the Hong Kong Hollywood star’s feat and stardom. Lee Jun-fan, aka Bruce Lee was the son of Cantonese opera star Lee Hoi-chuena. A Hong Kong-American actor, director, martial artist, martial arts instructor as well as philosopher, Lee was most known for founding the hybrid martial arts Jeet Kune Do. He is considered by both martial artists and the media as one of the most influential martial artists and pop culture icons of the 20th century. Lee was often credited with helping to change the way Asians were presented in American films.
Apart from creative dance moves by local choreographer Dominic Wong, CCDC’s dance production also features music composition and live performance by Yin Ng, the leading member of Chinese/rock fusion group SIU2.
The production is a part of CCDC’s International Arts Carnival 2019.
