Painting the Poetic Rainbow: The Calligraphy of Wang Dongling

Why We Recommend it

Exhibiting the works of calligraphy master Wang Dongling, this exhibit plays with the lively and long enduring relationship between words and colours in art and poetry.

Echoing poetic themes through the use of colour in his calligraphy, established artist Wang Dongling has been inspired by descriptions of colour, nature and life in the writings of Tang and Song Dynasty poets.

His calligraphy involves employing colour pigment instead of ink, a curious innovation that results in charming, deeply allusive works.
