Celebrate 2018 with the Spectacular Viennese New Year Concert

Why We Recommend it
Let your 2018 culminate in the timeless music by Johann Strauss II, Johann Nepomuk Hummel and Heinz Karl Gruber performed by award-winning musicians.
Description
The world-famous Viennese New Year concert returns this year with a star-studded line-up: trumpet soloist Tine Thing Helseth (b. Norway, 1987) who will perform Hummel’s Trumpet Concerto (deemed Himalayan among trumpet players), Budapest International Conducting Competition First Prize-winner Christian Schumann (b. Germany, 1983), London’s Philharmonia Orchestra as well as Brussels philharmonics.
Earning the title as the Newcomer of the Year at the Norwegian Grammy Awards in 2007, Helseth has worked with some of the world’s leading orchestras and chamber orchestras. She undertakes regular tours with tenThing, her ten-piece, all-female brass ensemble which started in 2007 as a fun and exciting project pursued with her musical colleagues.
An established conductor, Schumann has appeared in a number of important debuts including those with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the Philharmonia Orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall. He has further conducted numerous recordings for film and video games such as the original scores by Philippe Schoeller and Pascal Schumacher.
The concert will celebrate the works of famous composers and close with the popular ‘Blue Danube’ and ‘Radetzky March’ to ring out the old year and herald in the new.
