Celebrate a Legendary Chinese Builder at Lo Pan Festival

Why We Recommend it

Celebrate the legacy of ancient Chinese builder Lo Pan during this quintessential festival for Hong Kong’s construction industry.

Description

Every year on the 13th day of the sixth month of the Lunar Calendar, workers from the construction industry will gather at Lo Pan Temple in Kennedy Town, the only temple dedicated to  him in Hong Kong, to celebrate the birthday of the ancient Chinese carpenter, engineer, and inventor Lo Pan.

Lo Pan is the patron god of all Chinese builders and constructors. He was arguably the most celebrated ancient Chinese builder, carpenter and inventor. To this date, he is still being worshipped by almost everyone in the local construction industry as they pray to the god for safety and prosperity during work.

Lo Pan Festival is set to be held on July 3 this year.
