Celebrating Craft at Sai Ying Pun’s Pop-Up Neighbourhood Museum
Why We Recommend it
This pop-up museum will share stories, portraits, mini-documentaries and an exhibition dedicated to local traditional craftsmen and their tools, playing host to a number of workshops.
Over the course of two weeks, this pop-up museum will spotlight the trade of sixteen craftsmen located in Sai Ying Pun.
The exhibition, curated by iDiscover and Magic Lanes Community Design Studio, will play host to a myriad of interactive events with the craftsmen, including a paper lantern making workshop, a rice dumpling making workshop, a treasure hunt for local delicacies, and a live portrait sketching session. Interested parties are asked to sign up here.
This event also marks the launch of a special crowdfunded Sai Ying Pun guide in the form of both an app and offline map. The guide introduces twenty six local cultural heritage sites hand-picked by locals.
Opening Hours: Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday: 10am-2pm, 3-7pm; Thursday & Friday: 2-6pm, 7-10pm
