Chewing Gum: The Art of Dissolving Cultural Differences

Why We Recommend it

Artists from different temporal, regional and cultural backgrounds focus on relationships between “object and object”, “people and object”, and “people and people” in this themed exhibition curated by Pace Gallery.

Description

In this group show, the everyday act of “chewing” alludes to the ways in which a globalised context tends to dispel, and even dissolve, cultural differences, and to the effect of viewer participation in bringing about new connections between artworks.

This is the third instalment of Pace Gallery’s themed exhibition series — Chewing Gum and Chewing Gum II were presented in 2015 and 2017 respectively — which studies the individual creative states of a wide variety of contemporary artists.
