Swing Jazz and Dance at Tai Kwun

Description

Chilled Steps at Tai Kwun transforms the Laundry Steps into a stage for live jazz, curated by acclaimed guitarist Alan Kwan. Celebrating the free spirit of swing dance — known for its approachability and improvisation — the event brings together Hong Kong’s top jazz musicians on Fridays, setting the scene with infectious swing rhythms and fresh energy. Saturdays see the venue taken over by the dance group Swing Pocket, who perform and then open up the floor to social dancing, inviting everyone to join regardless of experience.

Whether you’re there to dance or simply enjoy the music, Chilled Steps offers an open, welcoming environment for creative exchange and community connection. The series further establishes Tai Kwun as a go-to destination for experiencing Hong Kong’s growing jazz and dance scene, turning every weekend into a celebration of rhythm, movement and togetherness.
