Dazzling Lantern Displays for Chinese New Year

Why We Recommend it
This year’s lantern display at Hong Kong Cultural Centre features exquisite designs by paper crafting masters Mo Cheuk-kei and Hui Ka-hung.
Description
In celebration of Chinese New Year, lantern displays will be displayed at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza from 12 February until 15 March. This year’s lanterns include ones made by paper crafting masters Mo Cheuk-kei and Hui Ka-hung. Master Mo brings lively lanterns of horses, bats, lions and more, while Master Hui incorporates elements such as the Hong Kong cheongsam and Chinese candy box into his exquisite lanterns. The lanterns will light up from 18:00 to 23:00.
People often go out to admire lanterns on the fifteenth day of the new lunar year (3 March this year), known as jyun4 siu1 zit3 (元宵節), sometimes translated as the Lantern Festival. On this day, it is also customary to enjoy tong1 jyun4 (湯圓), glutinous rice balls typically stuffed with sesame or peanut paste.
