Tour: Christian Pilard’s Little Museum of the World

Why We Recommend it

Join a one-day-only tour to discover hundreds of remarkable artefacts at Hong Kong’s immersive Little Museum of the World, a collection amassed by founder and curator Christian Pilard.

Description

The Little Museum of the World offers a journey through time with hundreds of unique artefacts that tell the story of humanity’s past, present and future. On a special one-day-only tour organised by the Royal Geographical Society of Hong Kong (RGS-HK), visitors can explore a remarkable variety of history – such as holding a piece of the Moon, touching a real mammoth’s skin and marvelling at a Tyrannosaurus Rex tooth. This cabinet of curiosities spans themes including dinosaurs, ancient civilisations, slavery, inventions, amongst others. It encourages reflection on the planet’s fragility and human progress, connecting past lessons to today’s social and environmental challenges.

Founded and curated by Christian Pilard, the museum reflects his lifelong passion for geography, wildlife and human history. Pilard also has a strong background in environmental and social advocacy, having co-founded the Eco-Sys Action Foundation and launched initiatives like The Boopy Football Cup, which links communities through sport and conservation. His work spans positive impacts in Kenya, Sierra Leone, Nepal and Hong Kong, where he promotes environmental education and social inclusion.

The tour takes place on 11 October from 14:30 to 16:30.
