Hosted by the Alliance Française Hong Kong, the gripping drama Life Beyond Me (dir. Olivier Peyon, 2017), will be screened free of admission.
A co-production between France and Uruguay, Life Beyond Me (Une Vie Ailleurs) premiered at the Cannes Film Festival 2017.
The film tells the story of Sylvie, whose ex-husband abducted their son and took him to South America. When French officials track them down but can’t manage to catch and bring back Sylvie’s son, she decides to take matters into her own hands. Together with social worker Mehdi, she travels to Uruguay to find her son.
