Hosted by the Alliance Française Hong Kong, the award-winning drama film A Woman’s Life (Une Vie, 2016) will be screened free of admission.
Description
Adapted from the classic and enduring French novel Une Vie by Guy de Maupassant, A Woman’s Life tells the tale of tormented love embedded in the restrictive social and moral codes of marriage and family in 19th century Normandy.
The film is a fragmented account of the coming of age of Jeanne Le Perthuis des Vauds, the young daughter of a minor aristocrat family, starting from the day she returns home from a convent and her heart is awakened by a local Viscount.
