Cine Italiano: Watch Death in Venice, a Mafia Musical, and More
Why We Recommend it
Seven contemporary and one classic Italian movie will grace The Grand Cinema’s screen in a ten-day festival presented by the Hong Kong International Film Festival Society.
Opening with compelling ‘urban Western’ Dogman (2018), a revenge saga of a frightening good man tempted by evil, the 7th Cine Italiano! festival will showcase eight stylish films.
The diverse program includes recently released titles by both established Italian filmmakers and fresh talent, such as the Naples-set gripping mafia musical Love and Bullets (2017), and Nico, 1988 (2017), a road-movie dedicated to the later years of Warhol-muse and The Velvet Underground singer Nico. Cine Italiano! also brings Luchino Visconti’s masterpiece Death in Venice (1971) back to the big screen.
