Cho Wing-ki Reimagines Hong Kong’s Cityscape at Gallery Exit

Why We Recommend it

Cho Wing-ki’s solo exhibition, Dazzled in the Loop, at Gallery Exit brings together her prints and oil paintings depicting urban landscapes and scenes from everyday life.

Description

Dazzled in the Loop, Cho Wing-ki’s solo exhibition at Gallery Exit, revisits familiar scenes from everyday life through oil painting and printmaking. Attentive to how people interact with and navigate the city, the artist extends her exploration of recognisable urban views into a more intimate psychological terrain.

Highlights include “The Escalating Whirl,” which takes the iconic long escalator at Admiralty Station as a point of departure, transforming a familiar commute into a kinetic rhythm that echoes the city’s tempo. “Enchanting Cheung Wing” draws on the Cheung Wing Road roundabout near the artist’s studio in Kwai Hing, turning it as a site where memories gradually settle. In “A Blaze of Colour” the nocturnal city becomes a rhythmic field, where palm-like forms resemble fountains and fireworks as pedestrians weave through rotating bridges, caught between warm and cool light.

The exhibition is open Tuesday to Saturday, from 12:00 to 18:00.
