Hong Kong Arts Centre’s Flagship Exhibition Returns

Why We Recommend it

As the Hong Kong Arts Centre’s flagship exhibition, Collaboration in Collision brings together seven artists and collectives to transform the conventional gallery into an interactive space for dialogue.

Description

After a four-year hiatus, Hong Kong Arts Centre’s flagship exhibition series returns with its latest edition, this year entitled Collaboration in Collision.

The exhibition brings together seven established artists and artist groups from Hong Kong, mainland China and overseas, representing a diverse range of cultural backgrounds.

Each artist brings their own specialities, spanning ceramics, illustration, digital media, art and technology. Through structured dialogues, their works collide, coexist, overlap and intermingle, creating a site-responsive and interactive exhibition that goes beyond the conventional group show.

Featuring in the exhibition are: Mainland Chinese artist Fang Lijun; Hong Kong contemporary art pioneer of the 1990s Kurt Chan Yuk-keung; Japanese contemporary sculptor Shiro Matsui; architect and ink painter Raymond Fung Wing-kee; interdisciplinary new media collective Picture Rhythm Studios; Korean-born media artist and researcher Juri Hwang; and media artist Andreas Kratky, who is also director of the Academy of Visual Arts at Hong Kong Baptist University.

During the exhibition period, there will also be a series of free public programmes, from conversations with artists to guided tours led by the curator and participating artists. Registration is required.
