Daring Shorts and Fun Cinema: German Film Festival Hong Kong
Why We Recommend it
Ten new and award-winning German films will be screened at KINO, an annual film festival presented by the Goethe-Institut Hong Kong.
Opening with the over-the-top comedy My Blind Date With Life, the 9th edition of KINO will screen a diverse selection of movies, showcasing the best of contemporary German cinema. Titles include the coming-of-age drama/comedy Goodbye Berlin (2016), the historical drama Fog in August (2016), romantic LGTB-drama Center of my World (2016), and Welcome to Germany (2016), an award-winning comedy film.
This year, KINO will bring the BERLINALE SPOTLIGHT:BERLINALE SHORTS, a selection of 11 short films to Hong Kong for the first time. The shorts, that are shown at the most recent Berlin International Film Festival, are radical and independent, at times controversial, disturbing or disorientating.
In addition to movie screenings, the festival plays host to a talk and sneak preview on October 11.
