Discover the Best of Hong Kong’s Local Music Scene at Tai Kwun’s Laundry Steps
Why We Recommend it
Every first and third Saturday of the month, an exciting line-up of both established and up-and-coming local musicians across genres will perform free concerts at Tai Kwun’s laundry steps.
Curated by singer-songwriter Vicky Fung, an avid promoter of Cantopop, Saturday Music at Laundry Steps showcases the best of Hong Kong’s jazz, pop, indie and world music scenes.
February 2 will see R.O.O.T, a new original alternative project by vocalist Jan Curious and guitarist Teriver Cheung; local jazz singer Angelita Li who will perform Latin and Brazilian music together with Teriver Cheung Group; and Teriver Cheung’s chamber group Ensemble Transience for an Alternative & Classical Chamber Music-themed afternoon.
The February 16 show is organised along the theme of SINGER • SONG • WRITER and will welcome Folk Rocker Michael Lai, pop singer Panther Chan, and Every Life is a Song (ELIAS), a musical social enterprise dedicated to producing and performing songs about the lives of different communities in Hong Kong.
