What is the Future of Digital and Media Design in Galleries?

Why We Recommend it
In a series of events, artists, curators and museum professionals from Hong Kong and Czechia discuss how digital and media art is exhibited, contextualised and collected.
Description
The final instalment of the five-part Digital Talks series brings together speakers from leading Czech and Hong Kong institutions, including Kunsthalle Praha and Tai Kwun, alongside artists and independent curators. Accompanying Digital Emotions – From Electric Pulse to Human Touch at DX design hub, the series examines how galleries and museums present digital and media art as contemporary art practices.
The afternoon begins with Panel 1 (from 14:00 to 15:15), moderated by Felix Kwok, chief creative officer and deputy director of Shenzhen Design Bay. Deputy director and head of art at Tai Kwun Contemporary Philip Tinari, curator at Kunsthalle Praha, artist Iva Polanecká, Jan Evangelista Purkyně University art professor and artist David Kořínek will discuss curatorial approaches to intangible, time-based and screen-based works, as well as how digital art can be integrated into exhibition programmes and institutional collections.
A guided tour of the Digital Emotions exhibition, led by co-curator and artist of DX design hub’s Digital Emotions exhibition Man Tin, follows between 15:30 and 16:15. Panel 2 (16:30–17:45) will then bring together Tin, artist Karim Tarakji and independent curator Grace Cheng to explore exhibition-making from artistic and curatorial perspectives. The talk will also be moderated by Kwok.
The Talk V programme concludes with a networking session (18:00–19:00), offering attendees the opportunity to meet the speakers and curators, exchange ideas and continue conversations about the evolving presentation and preservation of digital and media art.
