Encounter: Shifting Seas and Enduring Bonds

Description

Astronauts idling at the seaside, next to waters, tranquil and bursting with colours, artworks by local artist Jackie Lam capture the depth and breadth of the solace we find in emotional connections. In his solo exhibition Encounter at JPS Gallery, other than his paintings, Lam also showcases his new photography series. His astronaut characters are introduced to printed images of familiar Hong Kong environments, capturing the magic and warmth of human connection in our urban landscape.

Lam, also known as 009, studied at the First Institute of Art and Design, Hong Kong. He first worked as a toy designer and theme park architect, before working on illustrations, cartoons and art toys, publishing his first illustration book Drawin9 Life in 2009.
