The inaugural edition of this festive film programme will screen four family movies from around the world—’Jill and Joy’s Winter’, ‘Little Mountain Boy’, ‘The Nutcracker Sweet’ and ‘Oddsockeaters’.

For eight consecutive days, Christmas Family Screen will bring four Christmas movies to various cinemas in Hong Kong.

In Jill and Joy’s Winter (Finland, 2015), Jill and Joy meet the McTinies, a homeless miniature family. When the girls invite them to temporarily stay at their place, they learn that not all big people have good intentions towards the tiny…

The Award-winning movie Little Mountain Boy (Switzerland, 2015) tells the story of Ursli, a boy who lives up in the Swiss Alps. When an accident leaves his family without their annual harvest, they must strike a deal with a wealthy merchant in order to survive—including giving up Ursli’s beloved goat. 

The Nutcracker Sweet (US, 2015) is an animated movie about two children whi receive a nutcracker as a Christmas gift. When the nutcracker turns out to be alive, they join him on a journey to the Kingdom of Dolls to fight against the Mouse King and his platoon. 

Oddsockeaters (Czech Republic, 2016) is an award-winning animated movie about Oddsockeaters, small and invisible creatures who eat only one sock from each pair, and their coexistence with humans.

Experienced local dubbing artists Pat Kwok and Kinson Lai will perform live Cantonese dubbing for Jill and Joy’s Winter and The Nutcracker Sweet, which will also have English subtitles. Little Mountain Boy is in Swiss German with Chinese and English subtitles, and Oddsockeaters is in Czech with Chinese and English subtitles.
