Fast Taste: Catharine Grossrieder’s 80’s Inspired Graffiti Aesthetic

Why We Recommend it

Hong Kong-based emerging artist Catherine Grossrieder’s surrealist and humorous works play with nostalgic, hip aesthetics while exploring issues in contemporary society.

Description

The half-Swiss half-Thai artist who grew up in Hong Kong comes from a diverse background, which reflects itself in her work.

In this fun exhibit, she fuses together influences from 80s hip-hop culture and East London fast food takeaway joints. Here, Grossrider is exploring urban myths and stigmas around fast food and sexuality, and other contemporary topics.
