Flow with Big Mountain: Chuen Lung’s Living Archive

Description

Flow with Big Mountain, presented by the Hong Kong International Photo Festival at Koon Man Space, marks a new stage of the Chuen Lung Visual Research Archive. Bringing together artists, researchers and villagers, the exhibition extends beyond the gallery into the rhythms of village life, turning Chuen Lung itself into a site of artistic co‑creation. The project highlights how memory, ecology and local knowledge can be rediscovered through participation and dialogue.

Alongside newly commissioned works by seven artist-research partners, the exhibition features drawings by Chuen Lung villager Tsang Kim‑man, whose creative contribution embodies the archive’s collaborative spirit. Rather than concluding the research, Flow with Big Mountain invites audiences to enter its open process — to experience the archive as a living network of relationships continuously unfolding between art, place and community.

The exhibition runs from 31 January to 31 March, open from 10:00 to 17:00, Wednesday to Sunday.
