Flowing Warblers 2.0: Stories of Diaspora

Why We Recommend it

Directed by Chan Ping-chiu, Flowing Warblers 2.0 intertwines five poignant diaspora tales from Hong Kong to Europe, revealing the fragile ties between leaving, staying and belonging.

Description

Flowing Warblers 2.0 weaves together five intersecting stories of diaspora across Hong Kong, London, Berlin, Girona and Ireland’s Cliffs of Moher. The production explores the emotional landscapes of individuals navigating migration, identity and belonging. For example, characters include childhood friends parting in London, a couple going separate ways to the United Kingdom and Spain and a mother rebuilding her life in London to take care of her daughter-in-law. These separate journeys are subtly interconnected, reflecting on choices of leaving and returning, between past memories and future aspirations.
