Description
Based on the life of celebrated Southern Song Dynasty poet Lu You (1125-1210), this Cantonese opera tells the tragic story of Lu’s separation from his first wife and first love, Tang Wan. When Tang fails to produce a male heir and Lu’s political aspirations flounder, Lu’s mother forces the couple to separate by accusing Tang for bringing her son bad luck. Years later, long after both Tang and Lu have remarried, the two accidentally meet again…
