Freespace Happening: Live Music, Movie Screenings, Art-Making and More

Why We Recommend it

This fun-filled outdoor festival is packed with free arts, yoga and dance workshops, live music performances across genres, and more.

Description

Freespace Happening was launched in 2012 by the West Kowloon Cultural District with the mission of creating a unique free-for-all space for creativity and performance.

For its last edition of 2018, the festival is looking to go out with a bang. Local indie favourites including Shumking Mansion, The Red Stripes, TMG The Majestic G and Café 852 are to perform. The eclectic line-up also features jazz fusion singer Gili Yalo from Israel.

A cross-disciplinary affair, the festival also features literary activities, birdwatching stories and games, workshops on yoga and Cambodian dance, and Christmas and Xiqu-themed handicraft classes. Last but not least, for the first time since its inception, the festival will screen movies on the facade of their new Freespace venue, which will open in 2019.
