Freespace Happening: Special Two-Day Season Finale At West Kowloon

Why We Recommend it

A weekend of literature, market stalls, creative workshops, and an eclectic musical line-up including indie favourites Chochukmo, electro group Blood Wine or Honey and Canto hip-hop collective Project Ace.

Description

Freespace Happening was launched in 2012 by the West Kowloon Cultural District with the mission of creating a unique space for creativity and performance that’s free for all.

This month’s edition will see live performances from a mix of musicians and genres, including American multi-instrumentalist Kaya Doran and the experimental mashup of Choi Sai-ho x Kenneth Tsang x Jing Wong.

Stretching over the weekend, Sunday will feature pop-punk band 88balaz from Taiwan, Shotgun Politics, math rockers silhungmo, Eat Sleep Recycle and guitarist Jason Kui.

Other activities around the park include a Xiqu Movement Workshop, where visitors can learn how to ride an imaginary horse in operatic stage style, and the M+ Rover Travelling Creative Studio, involving a ‘Thing beyond Things’ workshop with artist Ng Ka Chun.
