Why We Recommend it
French painter, sculptor and visual artist Sophie Costa (b.1967) uses everyday objects such as soda cans and cassette tapes to created striking, textured artworks.
Description
Organised as a part of Le French May 2019, this eco-friendly exhibition sees an array of fun Pop Art artworks made with waste materials, including a wall created with more than 650 Coca-Cola cans.
An artist with a love for textures, Sophie Costa combines paint, plaster, glued objects, cardboard, and newspapers into her works. She takes everyday consumer objects—such as the iconic red-and-white Coca-Cola can—and adds fun slogans and emotive splashes of paint to it to transform them into art.
