Lauded contemporary French films as well as enduring classics, including ‘Blue is the Warmest Colour’ and ‘Belle de Jour’, are screened across three cinemas in Hong Kong.

 

Description

Organised as a part of Le French May 2019, this film festival screens a selection of eleven beloved Gallic films.

Contemporary programme offerings include the 2012 romantic tragedy Amour by Michael Haneke, Claire Denis’ 2018 science-fiction horror film High Life*,  and 2013 LGBT coming-of-age romance drama La Vie d’Adèle (Blue is the Warmest Colour) by Abdellatif Kechiche,

Classic movie fans will enjoy screenings of Luis Buñuel’s famous 1967 film Belle de Jour, 1964 musical romantic drama film Les Parapluies de Cherbourg by Jacques Demy, and François Truffaut’s 1981 romantic drama La Femme d’à Côté.

*Claire Denis will attend the June 11 screening of High Life to host a master class afterwards.
