Throughout the month of September, the Alliance Française Hong Kong screens three contemporary French films, followed by a talk on modern Gallic cinema.
Description
The free mini festival kicks off with Eden (2014), a film on the development of the electronic music scene in Paris in the early 1990s; followed by screenings of the comedy Struggle for Life (La Loi de la jungle, 2016), in which a trainee of the Ministry of the Standard is sent to go to Guyana to monitor the upgrade of “Guyaneige”, the first indoor ski track in Amazonia; and Raw (Grave, 2016), a horror-thriller about a young vegetarian girl at veterinary school who develops a craving for flesh.
Ciné-club in September is wrapped up with a talk about the merits of new French cinema.
