The Gazing Eyes Won’t Lie: Meditative Installations by Lee Kit

Why We Recommend it

Hong Kong multimedia artist Lee Kit blends together light, sound, paintings and more in this series of installations at this exhibition that takes place both at the gallery and online.

Description

Massimo De Carlo presents The gazing eyes won’t lie, marking the reopening of the Hong Kong gallery after months of temporary closure due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Conceived by Hong Kong artist Lee Kit, this exhibition aims to reactivate the Hong Kong arts community.

The gazing eyes won’t lie launches simultaneously in Massimo De Carlo Hong Kong and the new Massimo De Carlo Virtual Space. By happening both in a real space and in a virtual realm, this exhibition is also an experimentation both on the idea of an exhibition itself and exhibition-making during these difficult times when the world is put on hold.

Lee creates meditative installations by blending together light, sound, painting, moving image, and ready-made objects. The gazing eyes won’t lie features a series of miniature paintings and diversified projections, influenced by the recent tumultuous sociopolitical situation.
