Gestures of Truthfulness: Photographers Edgar Leciejewski and Eugene Zhang in dialogue

Why We Recommend it

This exhibit brings together the works of two photographers, Edgar Leciejewski from Leipzig and Eugene Zhang from Hong Kong, covering the topics of life and death, beauty and transience.

Description

A selection of still-life photographs from the Aves series by photographer Edgar Leciejewski are juxtaposed with large-format portraits of Eugene Zhang’s Androgyny series.

The pictured birds, whose beauty goes beyond the moment of death, encounter portraits of young, lively people.

Another work by Edgar Leciejewski includes cyanotypes of his series A Circle Full of Ecstasy. It features politicians and celebrities in repetitive poses and gestures. They are married with portraits from Zhang’s Androgyny series.
