Get Redressed Month 2026: Rethinking Fashion Waste in HK

Why We Recommend it

Get Redressed Month 2026 mobilises Hongkongers to extend the life of their clothes and confront the city’s growing textile waste crisis.

Description

Redress returns with the 9th edition of Get Redressed Month, Hong Kong’s largest circular fashion campaign. Anchored by this year’s theme “Keep it. Wear it. Share it.,” the initiative promotes simple, everyday actions to extend garment lifespan and reduce waste. The urgency is stark: in 2024, Hong Kong sent 400 tonnes of textiles to landfills every day (equivalent to over 17,000 suitcases of clothing), even as most items were unworn in local wardrobes.

Through public engagement, education and community participation, Redress aims to shift mindsets away from disposable fashion towards more mindful consumption. The campaign continues with its Sort-A-Thon (11 June), where volunteers help process collected clothing for resale, redistribution or reuse through charity partners. By connecting individual behaviour with systemic change, Redress shows how small wardrobe decisions can collectively reshape Hong Kong’s fashion footprint.

From 23 to 28 June, Redress will host a secondhand pop-up event featuring a wide selection of clothing and accessories. The event is open from 11:00 to 20:00, Tuesday to Friday, and from 11:00 to 18:00 on Saturday and Sunday.
